Picturesque Peggy's
Cove
Begin your day with
some sightseeing and
fun. Halifax, founded
in 1749, has amazed
visitors with the culture
and traditions. Hear
tales of rum running
and privateering along
the historic waterfront.
Learn about Halifax
during the war years
and of the greatest
man made explosion before
the nuclear age - the
Halifax Explosion of
1917. Learn of the devastation
and the heroism of the
citizens.
Enjoy the most visited
National Historic Site
in Canada - the Fortress
Citadel. This star shaped
fort is located in the
very centre of the city
and provides the most
breathtaking views of
the city and harbour
- the 2nd largest natural
harbour in the world!
Listen for the traditional
noon gun salute. Continue
your tour to the beautiful
Halifax Public Gardens
- the oldest Victorian
gardens in North America.
Depart British Halifax
and travel along the
German coastal Lighthouse
Route to picturesque
Peggy's Cove - an artist’s
and photographer’s paradise!
This village is situated
upon solid granite rock
which is actually debris
that was left behind
by retreating glaciers
from the Ice Age. There
will be plenty of time
for shopping and exploring.
Cruises off Peggy's
Cove are available.
Spend the night in Halifax,
enjoy some fine dining
or a dinner theatre.

3:
Enchanting Baddeck and
Alexander Graham Bell
It was Bell who stated,
"I have travelled
around the globe. I
have seen the Canadian
and American Rockies,
the Andes and Alps,
and the Highlands of
Scotland - but for simple
beauty, Cape Breton
outrivals them all!"
Today, depart Halifax
and travel to beautiful
Baddeck, the beginning
of the famous Cabot
Trail. Stop enroute
in Pictou to see the
reconstructed pilgrim
ship Hector or visit
the Grohmann Knife Factory.
In Baddeck visit the
Alexander Graham Bell
National Historic Site
where you learn of the
life and works of this
famous inventor (who
inventend the telephone
at age 29), teacher
and humanitarian. Visit
Bell's summer home where
he spent 37 years. Overnight
in Baddeck, nestled
in the foothills of
the Highlands.
Day
4:
The World Famous Cabot
Trail
Travel the mountainous
highlands, stop at look-off
points to observe bald
eagles in flight, curious
moose and view of the
ocean meeting the land.
Travel around the Cape
Breton Highlands National
Park and marvel at the
land that Bell loved
so much! Follow the
Cabot Trail to the quaint
town of Cheticamp, hugging
the coastline directly
beneath the Highlands.
Tonight, enjoy the sights
& sounds of Cheticamp.
Take the "Whale
Cruiser" for a
cruise off the coast.
Enjoy the view of the
spectacular Cabot Trail
from the waters of the
Gulf of St. Lawrence.
Observe pilot whales,
finback whales and minke
whales. Watch for bald
eagles and a variety
of seabirds. Cruise
the shores of the Cape
Breton Highlands where
you will discover sea
caves and rock formations.

Day
5:
The Enchanting Emerald
Isle
Today we leave Cheticamp
behind as you travel
along the coastline
of the island to Mabou
where you will enjoy
a tour of the Glenora
Distillery - the producers
of North America's only
single malt whisky!
Learn of the production
process.
Depart Mabou and travel
the causeway back to
the mainland. Cross
the Northumberland Strait
via ferry to Prince
Edward Island. Travel
to Charlottetown, the
capital city of the
Emerald Isle and the
“Birthplace of Canada”.
Tonight, enjoy the musical
"Anne of Green
Gables" at the
Charlottetown Festival.
Consider a traditional
lobster dinner on the
waterfront. Overnight
in Charlottetown.
Day
6:
If the Tide tables match
this would be a good
opportunity to see the
Tidal Bore, and perhaps
ride a Zodiac as they
come in. this is an
activity suitable for
all ages, and the only
place in the world were
this phenomenen takes
place. Continue onto
the Prince Edward Island
where the newly built
Confederation Bridge
will take you across
the Northumberland Strait.
This bridge is the largest
bridge in the world
ever built over ice-forming
waters! An interpretive
centre allows for some
in-depth information
on this project.

Day
7:
The Oldest City in Canada
- Saint John, New Brunswick
Today, leave Cavendish
and travel to Borden,
Prince Edward Island
where the newly built
Confederation Bridge
will take you across
the Northumberland Strait
to enter Cape Tormentine,
New Brunswick. This
bridge is the largest
bridge in the world
ever built over ice-forming
waters! An interpretive
centre allows for some
in-depth information
on this project.
Visit Fundy National
Park and the Hopewell
Rocks - these "flowerpot
rocks" are located
along the Fundy Coastal
Drive! If the tides
are right, walk on the
ocean floor around 5
storey "flowerpots"
that have been gouged
out of the cliffs by
the great force of the
Fundy tide - the highest
and fastest tides in
the world (up to 50
feet).
Continue to Saint John
where you will witness
the natural phenomena
of Reversing Falls where
hundreds of billions
of tons of water surge
into the Bay of Fundy
causing the Saint John
River to reverse its
natural flow twice a
day! Stroll through
the oldest farmer’s
market in Canada today,
drop off your rental
car. Farewell...treasure
