Nova Scotia City Lights & Country Sights Tour
6 Days/5 Nights

Enjoy the best of Canada's ocean playground as you spend three night's in Nova Scotia's capital city of Halifax and two night's on Cape Breton Island.

Spend three nights in the waterfront city of Halifax; Nova Scotia's capital city, and 2 nights in beautiful Baddeck, Cape Breton, located on Bras d'Or Lake. Enjoy free time in Halifax to explore on your own and experience sightseeing tours of Halifax and Peggy's Cove. Join an escorted tour to Cape Breton with one of our local tour directors and discover the island that's been ranked as most beautiful island by Conde Nast Traveler magazine. Cape Breton Island truly offers a world of wondrous sightseeing opportunities that include the famous Cabot Trail.

Day 1: Arrive Halifax
Arrive in Halifax and check into your conveniently located downtown hotel for a two night stay.

Day 2: Local Touring
Today enjoy a Deluxe Historic Halifax City Tour and a Gray Line Peggy's Cove Tour. Our informative and fun filled ride through the city streets will immerse you in the history and culture of Halifax. You'll have time for a quick bite to eat on the waterfront before heading out to see and hear the crashing waves of Peggy's Cove. No trip to Nova Scotia is complete without a visit to this beautiful, rustic fishing village along the Atlantic Ocean. (Continental Breakfast)

Day 3: Halifax to Cape Breton Island
Transfer to New Glasgow (included) to meet your local Tour Director and proceed to Cape Breton Island - "the Scotland of North America." Visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck to marvel at the many accomplishments of this genius. Spend two nights at a charming lakeside resort in the heart of Baddeck. (Continental Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 4: Cabot Trail Touring
You're off to experience one of the most scenic drives in North America, the Cabot Trail. Cape Breton Highlands National Park is next, as you wind along this ribbon of highway where the mountains meet the sea. The vistas abound as you travel over the flat-topped mountains. Tonight there is a "Farewell" dinner. (Breakfast, Picnic Lunch, Dinner)

Arrivals in July, August and September enjoy a bonus while on the Cabot Trail: a whale watching boat tour (weather permitting)

Day 5: Baddeck to Halifax
The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site awaits you. This reconstruction recreates one-fifth of the town of 1744 - words will not do justice to the scope of this tribute to New France. Roam the streets talking with some of the costumed guides who remain in character, or sample the sustenance of the era. Your tour continues along the shores of Bras d'Or to the mainland where you will continue on to Halifax for one more night. (Breakfast)

Day 6: Homeward Bound!
Arrangements end this morning upon check out from the hotel. (Continental Breakfast)

Note: The scheduling of your hotel nights and sightseeing in Halifax is flexible in relation to the Thursday departure of the Cape Breton portion of your tour. Please contact us for further information.
