Day 1 - Your Nova Scotia travel begins in Halifax
Tour starts at 6:00 PM at the Delta Barrington. A transfer is included from Halifax International Airport to the Delta Barringon. Kick off a week of exciting P.E.I. and Nova Scotia travel in Halifax with a welcome reception at Pier 21, Gateway to Canada, which features exhibits chronicling 20th-century Canadian immigration and the poignant multi-media production, Oceans of Hope.

Day 2 - 18th-century Lunenburg and pretty Peggy's Cove
Your Nova Scotia travel continues with an excursion from Halifax along the rugged Atlantic coast to the fishing village of Lunenburg, renowned for its rich shipbuilding and maritime legacy; established in the 18th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the best surviving examples of a planned British colonial settlement in North America. You have a choice today of sightseeing today - see the village's 18th- and 19th-century timber-built houses on a walking tour, or visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic - housed in historic waterfront buildings - to gain insights into the Maritimes' seafaring heritage. Also visit Mahone Bay and Peggy's Cove, another picturesque fishing town, before returning to Halifax for an evening at leisure.

Day 3 - Historic Halifax and an exclusive evening at the Citadel
After a day spent exploring Nova Scotia's provincial capital and the largest city in the Maritimes as you please, join us this evening for an Exclusive - a private tour and dinner at Halifax's venerable Citadel National Historic Site, a witness to 300 years of history offering spectacular views of the city and its celebrated harbor.

Day 4 - From Nova Scotia travel to Prince Edward Island
Bid a temporary goodbye to Nova Scotia as you ride a ferry to lovely Prince Edward Island. You'll be mesmerized immediately by many miles of beaches and rich farmland in the interior. After lunch, arrive in the provincial capital of Charlottetown for a two-night stay; visit Founders' Hall, with state-of-the-art exhibits showcasing Canada's history, and settle in at your hotel just steps from Old Charlottetown's boardwalk.

Day 5 - Anne of Green Gables on Prince Edward Island
Following a morning at leisure in Charlottetown, set out to discover the fragile sand dune habitat on Greenwich Peninsula, and view the wildlife-rich salt marshes and dramatic bluffs along the coast at Prince Edward Island National Park. You'll find yourself immersed in local culture later in the day as you visit the Green Gables House, the old farmhouse immortalized in Lucy Maud Montgomery's cherished 1908 novel, Anne of Green Gables, and dig into a traditional lobster dinner, a must-have experience on P.E.I. Tonight, cap a very special day by attending a musical theatre performance of Anne of Green Gables at the Charlottetown Theatre Festival (season permitting).

Day 6 - History comes alive as your Nova Scotia travel continues
From Prince Edward Island, cross the Confederation Bridge to New Brunswick and on to Nova Scotia once again. Explore colonial life here in the early 17th century as recreated at Port-Royal National Historic Site and the Habitation, a reconstruction of one of North America's earliest European settlements. Continue on to a two-night stay at a golf resort in Digby, built in 1929 overlooking the Annapolis Basin and the Bay of Fundy.

Day 7 - Whale-watching on the Bay of Fundy
Get a close-up look at nature's wonders during an excursion to Digby Neck, a long peninsula on the Bay of Fundy offering world-renowned whale and bird watching. Back at your resort in Digby, pursue what interests you most in the afternoon, then join us to celebrate a memorable P.E.I. and Nova Scotia travel experience at this evening's farewell dinner.

Day 8 - The Acadian saga ends your P.E.I. and Nova Scotia travel
As you head back to Halifax for your journey home, wind your way through rich Annapolis Valley farmland to visit Grand-Pre National Historic Site, where the British deported the French Acadians in 1755; the incident inspired Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's famous poem, Evangeline. Tour ends at Halifax International Airport at 11:45 AM. For guests wishing to extend their stay in Halifax, the Tour Operator can arrange additional nights at the Delta Barrington; a transfer to Halifax International Airport is included for these bookings. Allow a minimum of two hours for flight check-in. Meals: Breakfast

Prince Edward Island & Nova Scotia Includes:

Inclusive Prices:
Tour prices are per person in U.S. dollars. All hotel accommodations, motor coach and ferry transportation, special dinners, the musical theatre performance of Anne of Green Gables (schedule permitting), sightseeing, admissions, luggage handling, and the services of your Tour Director, local guides and drivers are included. A representative of the Tour Operator will meet you at Halifax Stanfield International Airport and provide transportation to the Delta Barrington, regardless of the time and day of your arrival, provided you have furnished us with accurate flight arrival information at least two weeks prior to your departure date. The Tour Operator will also provide transportation from the Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa to Halifax Stanfield International Airport at 11:45 AM on the day of your departure.

Hotel Accommodations - The tour price includes all hotel accommodations with private baths. The standard is to provide the best available accommodations without sacrificing value. Although the quality may differ slightly from place to place, our commitment to your comfort is unwavering. Two-bedded rooms are reserved in most hotels. Triples are usually two-bedded rooms with a rollaway cot where available and are not recommended for comfort.

Meals - Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary.

Tour Director - Prince Edward Island & Nova Scotia is conducted by a Tour Director who remains with the group throughout the tour. Your Tour Director is a professional, fully trained employee.

Gratuities Included - All gratuities for restaurant and hotel staff and local guides are included.

No Options Sold - Your Tour Director will assist you with information on free-time activities based on honest opinion and guidance but will not sell you anything. This means better value and a more relaxed and pleasant experience for you.

Not Included:
Airfare to the tour departure point and from the tour ending point is not included. Airfare may be purchased from the Tour Operator for travel originating in the United States.

Hotel Rooms Before and After Tours - To avoid jet lag and possible flight delays, you may wish to make hotel arrangements for the nights preceding or following your tour. As a service, the Tour Operator will book additional nights for you on a space-available basis using special rates only available through the Tour Operator. Hotel room charges will be added to the tour cost. If you wish to spend additional nights, please consult the Extend This Journey section on this website and discuss it with the reservations agent when you book your tour.

Luggage Responsibility - Although every effort is made to handle your luggage carefully, we cannot be responsible, assume liability or accept claims for loss or damage to luggage and personal effects due to breakage, theft, or fair wear and tear through hotel, airline and group carrier handling. It is important for your own self-interest and protection that you make certain you have adequate insurance to cover these eventualities.

Personal Expenses - Phone calls, room service, alcoholic and bar beverages, laundry, airline excess luggage charges, vaccinations, visa fees and services, individual airport transfers, and other optional or incidental extras are not included and may be significant.

Tour Director Gratuities - The customary gratuities for the Tour Director and driver are not included.

Overnight Accommodations:

Night 1, 2 & 3: Delta Barrington Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Warm maritime hospitality is a hallmark of the Delta Barrington. Occupying a heritage building in the midst of the historic Halifax waterfront district, the hotel is well located on the Link walkway system in the heart of downtown. Stores along Barrington Street, historic pubs and the Casino Nova Scotia are just steps away. All guest rooms feature June Jacobs Spa Collection amenities as well as air conditioning, high-speed Internet access, color TV, in-room movies and video games, mini bar, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and coffee maker. The heated indoor swimming pool is adjacent to the well-equipped Health Club. Enjoy a "Taste of Nova Scotia" at the Stone Street Cafe or relax with your favorite cocktail at Trader's Bar in the main lobby.

Night 4 & 5: Delta Prince Edward Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada
Located in the heart of Old Charlottetown, the comfortable Delta Prince Edward is just steps away from the many shops at Peake's Wharf and the delightful winding boardwalk. Guest rooms offer such popular amenities as irons and boards, complimentary coffee and tea, bathrobes and a hair dryer. Leisure options include a heated indoor swimming pool and exercise facilities. The Selkirk Lounge awaits for pre-dinner cocktails or specialty coffees and liqueurs to cap the evening.

Night 6 & 7: Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa Digby, Nova Scotia, Canada
The Digby Pines Resort & Spa is one of three prestigious Nova Scotia Signature Resorts. This Norman-style chateau overlooking the Annapolis Basin, which has been welcoming guests since 1929, entices with an atmosphere of casual elegance set amidst lovely scenic views. Comfortable guest rooms are equipped with private bath, direct-dial telephone, dial-up Internet, coffee maker and color cable TV. Resort amenities include an 18-hole Stanley Thompson golf course, a heated outdoor pool, tennis courts and hiking trails.
