Balmoral Grist Mill Museum
660 Matheson Brook Rd, Balmoral Mills

In a deep gorge by Matheson’s Brook, this picturesque three-level gristmill still grinds wheat, oats and buckwheat the way it did in 1874. One of the few operating mills left in the province; milling demonstrations Mon – Sat, 10am – noon and 2 – 4 pm, Sun 2 – 4pm. Huge Scottish granite and French buhr millstones; unique oat-drying kiln; walking trail.

Festival Antigonish
Bauer Theatre, St. FX University Campus, Antigonish

One of the finest professional entertainment venues in Nova Scotia. A/C, 227 seat thrust-stage theatre. Drama for kids 11am, late-night theatre 10:30pm, main stage plays 8pm Tues – Sun, matinees Sat – Sun.

Hector Heritage Quay
33 Caladh Ave, Pictou

One of Nova Scotia's most important heritage developments. Interpretation Center retells the story of 18th-century Scottish migration to the New World and the role of Ship Hector in making Pictou the “Birthplace of New Scotland”. Full-size replica of the Ship Hector at dockside; work continues on masts, rigging, and ship outfitting; master rigger, blacksmith, carpentry shop and artist on site. Guided tours, custom work, heritage photographs available.

Magic Valley Fun Park
Greenhill - Hwy 104, Exit 20, 10 km (6 mi) west of New Glasgow,

Atlantic Canada’s largest museum; costumed interpreters; more than 30,000 artifacts tell the fascinating story of the lives of Nova Scotia's industrial workers. Feel the power of falling water; print a souvenir bookmark; giggle at 1930s hairdressing equipment; hook a rag mat. See Canada’s oldest steam locomotives, Samson and Albion, an historic model railway layout, a belt-driven working machine shop, and a collection of unique "Nova Scotia" pressed glass.
