Northport Pier
Located on 240 m of pristine shoreline overlooking Cascumpec Bay and Northport Harbour.

Prince Edward Island Potato Museum

National exhibit "The Amazing Potato" (History and Culture) with extraordinary displays and interactive terminals. Visit the Potato Hall of Fame. Self-guided interpretive centre story-line supported by photographs, artifacts and graphics, tells the story of the potato. Large collection of antique machinery. View the "giant sculptured potato" at the entrance to the museum. Community museum, heritage chapel, log barn of farm implements, machinery and the one-room school.



Mill River Fun Park
PEI Provincial Parks, O'Leary RR3, C0B 1V0. 38016 Western Rd., Rte 2.

The Fun Park has activities for the entire family. Attractions include a swimming pool, sea of balls, bumper boats, pirate ship, kiddie's pool with waterslides, giant twister slide and the Aqua Rage.

Admission includes all activities in the park. Group rates on request.


West Point Lighthouse
Rte 14, in Cedar Dunes Provincial Park.

Climb to the Lantern deck at the top of PEI's tallest functioning Coast Guard lighthouse. The museum depicts the history of lighthouses and the seafaring era. Stay the night, enjoy a delicious chowder or lobster dinner.


Alberton Museum & Genealogy Centre

The Alberton Museum housed in the former town courthouse and jail erected in 1878. The museum depicts the range of activities carried out by PEI's early settlers. Displays include: early fishing industry, military history, silver fox industry, Mi'kmaq culture, house hauling, early pharmacy, cooper shop, cobbler shop, local historic crafts, housewares, local folk art, china, etc. The museum boasts the largest collection of historical photographs and most comprehensive compilation of genealogical information in the area.


North Cape, Nature and Technology in Perfect Harmony
North end of Rte 12

Witness the meeting of the waters of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Northumberland Strait. Walk the Black Marsh Nature Trail, view the windmills and learn all about the generation of wind energy in our newly expanded North Cape Interpretive Centre. Enjoy the panoramic ocean view from the Wind & Reef Restaurant, Lounge, and gift shop.

Featuring one of the largest selections of locally made quilts and fabrics in Eastern Canada.


Seaweed Pie Caf Irish Moss Interpretive Centre
Rte 14 (Lady Slipper Drive)

Come in and explore our interpretive centre. Learn about Irish Moss through displays and video. Gift shop. Enjoy our famous Seaweed Pie or seafood chowder, fish cakes and homemade beans, mussels and much more.


Tignish Cultural Centre
Box 100, 103 School St., Tignish, C0B 2B0. Located on Maple St., near St. Simon & St. Jude Church.

Includes an Interpretive Centre/Museum, Visitor Information Centre, library. Learn about the history of Tignish and the surrounding area. This display introduces the natural history of the area and explores the coming of the Acadian and Irish settlers two hundred years ago.


Historic Site At The Green
Comit Istorique Prince-ouest lt, Box 249, Tignish, C0B 2B0. Off Rte 12, approximately 3 km east of Tignish on Founders Lane.

Visit the landing site of the eight founders in 1799. A protected archeological area 50m in radius. Walk in the footsteps of the first settlers along the trails that lead to the bridge observation deck. The trail leads to the site of the first church and cemetery. Learn about the history of the founders and the building of a community.
