Prince Edward Island National Park

The park preserves the natural and cultural heritage of
the Island's North Shore, including Greenwich. White sand supervised
beaches, sand dunes, sandstone cliffs, salt marshes, ponds, woodlands,
wildlife as well as cultural landmarks including Green Gables and
Dalvay by the Sea. Activities include camping, swimming, hiking,
biking, picnicking, golf, tennis. A variety of food outlets, gift
shops, roofed accommodations. Park activities offered in July/August
include bird watching, beach walks, cultural campfires. Pets on a leash
permitted in all areas of the park except the beaches.
The Shining Waters Family Fun Park
Located in Cavendish.
Atlantic Canada's largest privately owned fun park, 400 m
(1/4 mile) from Green Gables. This 40-acre amusement park offers fun
for all ages. Three boating lakes, six types of boats, many rides, five
water slides plus a giant splash pad, live animals, live and animated
shows, gift shops, games room, four food outlets. Only mono-rail and
dark ride in Eastern Canada. Kennels available on site. Catering
available to groups, companies, conventions, motor coaches (contact
Mary Smith). Tuesday Evening Frolic Shows, and Fiddlers & Followers
the first weekend in August.

Treasury Experience
Located at Ingleside, the L. M. Montgomery Heritage Museum, Rte 20.
Join "Treasury" author Carolyn
Strom Collins for "a perfectly scrumptious time" in Anne's world. Sip
homemade raspberry cordial while you create your own flower-bedecked
straw hat like Anne's; make fragrant "rosebud" sachets, paper-lace
ornaments, and button strings. Picnic tea and re-enactment of "Lady
Elaine" scene by the Lake of Shining Waters. Guided museum tour. Space

Enjoy the Cyclone roller-coaster as well as many other
first-class attractions including Can-Am racers, 60-ft. ferris wheel,

Rock 'n' Roll, miniature golf and seven children's attractions. Canteen

kids' "seventh heaven". Admission includes all park facilities and

of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish Home
Rte 6, at Cavendish.

ground to me." L. M. M. Homestead fields, gardens, lanes, old trees
surround this hallowed ground where Montgomery was raised by her
grandparents, Alexander and Lucy MacNeill - her home from 1876 to 1911
- where she wrote Anne of Green Gables. Serene and beautiful, this site
captures the essence of the Cavendish she knew and loved.
Bookstore/museum on premises. Attractions Canada 2002 Provincial winner
for best developed outdoor site. John MacNeill, great-grandson, and
wife Jennie live on this farmland and lovingly tend it.

Replicas & Gardens
On Rte 234 in Burlington, just north of Kensington
Woodleigh's magic has
fascinated
visitors for 50 years. The gorgeous grounds feature 30 large-scale
replicas of glorious castles and legendary buildings painstakingly
hand-built over a lifetime by a famous Islander, extensive English
Gardens, sparkling fountains, food service, picnic area, unique gift
shop and playground. Amazingly, some replicas are large enough to enter
and furnished with priceless antiques and artifacts. The castles spring
to life during our popular Medieval Faire.

of Green Gables Museum At Silver Bush Park Corner

The Anne of Green Gables Museum at Silver Bush, Park Corner has
a treasure around every corner. On this 110-acre property you will find a museum, an antique shop, a craft
shop with the finest Anne of Green Gables products available, a tea room with a view of the Lake of Shining
Waters, Matthew's Carriage Rides, a playground for the children, and some of the most beautiful scenery found
on Prince Edward Island.
Matthew's Carriage Ride - Matthew's Carriage Ride takes you on a
peaceful journey through the beautiful flower gardens along the Lake of Shining Waters, over the rolling pastural

Woodleigh
Medieval Faire
A fabulous Medieval frolic set among the stunning
Woodleigh castles. Visitors can join the costumed cast of village
characters in skits, games, concerts, dramas, royal parades and
knighting ceremonies. Dungeons, ghost stories, villains, skullduggery,
knights, kings, queens, and more. A special event provided free to all
paid visitors to Woodleigh Replicas & Gardens. Exuberant,
whimsical, lively, and imaginative!

Mike
Pendergast Family Show at Avonlea Hall
Enjoy traditional Island
folksongs
and stories with PEI's own Mike Pendergast. The whole family enjoys his
many talents! Three shows daily, included with admission.

Fiddlers
& Followers Weekend
Features four big fiddle shows. Sunday morning hymn sing,
fish chowder dinner, scores of fiddlers including Maritime Fiddle
Champion Winston Crawford, piano and guitar accompanists, step dancers,
etc. Barbecues, lobster parties, old-fashioned picnics.

Activities/Prince Edward Island National Park - Fun Through Learning
A range of interpretive activities are offered daily by
Parks Canada throughout Prince Edward Island National Park and Green
Gables during the summer months. These interpretive programs are a
great way to learn about the Park's fascinating system of sandy
beaches, dunes, fresh-water ponds, salt-water marshes and woodlands.
There are also many wonderful programs relating the rich cultural
history of Prince Edward Island's North Shore. These entertaining and
educational activities, offered in both English and French, are fun for
the whole family.
